Casper The White Lion Vs Buffalo

At the Nsemani dam on the H7 in the Kruger Park, we saw a herd of buffalo approaching to drink. At the dam was Casper the white lion and his female companion who was in the tree above him. Two of the other males in his coalition were also there. We knew there would be interaction with them and the buffalo.

Casper the White Lion is a very BRAVE Lion. By not being scared he is facing the massive Buffalo herd by diverting their attention from the lioness allowing his mating partner enough time to hide in the bushes behind him. And, after the Buffaloes have left, he confronts them once again and lead them away from the Nsemani Lioness.

One of Casper’s Brothers, probably Casanova can also be seen in this video filmed from a distance on the other side of the dam. Filmed at the Nsemani Dam to the west of Satara Rest-camp in Kruger National Park, South Africa. Casper is only one of three White Lions alive in the wild.

The other two are from the Birmingham pride in the Ngala Private Game Reserve to the west of Kruger national Park. Casper and his three Shishangaan (Shish) Brothers, Footloose, Casanova and Mfowethu now control the Satara Lion Pride as well as the Nsemani Pride to the west of Satara.
