Western Diamondback Rattlesnake combat

What an awesome video and experience, Thanks for sharing and being cool to the snakes, a lot of Texans could learn a lot from you when it comes to rattlesnakes.

Rattlesnakes are known to fight for dominance during mating season and the sight is sometimes described as a “combat dance”.

Saw this hiking the other day and went online to look up what they are doing, apparently they’re two males competing to see who’s biggest and strongest to see who can have the lady snake this mating season.

They’re fighting, this looks very similar to a meeting ritual where they try to one up each other in order to mate with nearby females. Rattlesnakes are surprisingly friendly to one another.
