The way the big elephant pushed Mama elephant to go towards the pool opening…. brought tears to my eyes. So many don’t realize how intelligent these animals are.
That’s truly remarkable! I would have never thought a dog would be able to comprehend a fish would need water to survive. That is some next level intelligence for a dog in my opinion.
This story is actually very tragic. The reason that the lioness lost her baby is because she was kicked out of the pride. How she adopted an antelope baby was that she had accidentally scared the other deer away. When the baby tried to reunite with their herd, the lion followed, scaring the herd away again. Unfortunately, the baby deer wound up being killed by another lion. After that, the lioness starved herself to death.
In many of these cases the animals aren’t actually trying to “help” but rather defend their territory and someone happen to get a lucky break. The hippos for instance would doubtless have killed the animal they were “helping” if they had caught up to it. That said, I have to say it’s great to see some true social behavior in animals as well.
